iPads in the classroom

Hi everyone!

If you’ve been reading my blog, you’ll know that at my school, we are limited with the computer labs that are available to us.  So, I’m considering using some of our budget to buy some iPads.  They’re small, compact, easily portable.  Those are the pros.  The cons – easily lost / stolen, easily damaged, and you have to remember to charge them before you need them.  Right now I’m struggling with what to do, but also to figure out how to use them to enhance language learning.  I don’t own an iPad myself, so I’m not familiar with all its capabilities.

I found a great site that has a list of apps for language learning.  For now, I’ve added it to my class portal.  Hopefully, I’ll be able to make use of them in the near future.

Thanks for reading!

About Mme Martin

I am a high school French teacher in Ontario, Canada. I've been a teacher for the last 14 years and I love what I do. I am always looking for ways to improve my teaching by learning from my colleagues, reading, attending conferences and workshops. I also completed a Masters of Education degree, specializing in Second Language Acquisition. My goal is to increase students' oral fluency in French and I would like to share this journey with you in the hopes that you will find new ideas and be inspired to do the same. I will let you know what I try in my classes and what works and what doesn't. I hope you will find a wealth of ideas to use in your class.
